Major IT screwup impacts PBNA

Ops team lead by TCS has messed up royally this week while upgrading systems that has an impact to all of PBNA operations.

Unbelievable that a routine systems upgrade that they planned for 5 months could not be executed without issues. Who is paying the bill for this?

I just said goodbye to my Field IT Sisters and Brothers for the last time. We were all given the HCL road or the highway dirt road. I remember long ago in Cedar Rapids at a Quaker plant, cleaning sewage from a “500 year flood”. People volunteered from all over the country. They flew in, many drove hundreds of miles to help the company we loved get one of our heartland plants back up on its feet. I spent 18 days and nights in Cedar Rapids with good people who cared for one another.

Today, some 11 years later, it’s all over. At the hands of some Excuse for an Executive (JD), who most likely ate Wise chips and drank Coke, back when Field IT, then PBSG QFB and PBG came together to lend a hand.

What a discrace Pepsico IT has become.

I’m sure you sleep well at night JD.

Amazing that Pepsico has all this disposable money, I guess it comes from the savings of smart spending. Don't you just love the upper management making these big business decisions. Be nice if they could sell product to make profits.

As I sit here on a bridge at 1am, after being up for the same bridge 21 hours ago, I'm saying the FTEs are paying. TCS has their shifts, but there aren't enough of us for shifts. And they are doing nothing. Just a bunch of guys pushing the buttons were tell them to push. I need to start looking.

SAP (Sybase) upgrade. This caused a priority one error that got escalated to HJ. All other upgrades have been put on hold until this error becomes stable. The pri 1 ticket was resolved on Wednesday.

Looks like hush hush on this subject, that the norm outsource does no wrong, I'm sure whatever fte are left are working hard to fix. Tired of the old cliche..."At the end of the day we own it". So does JD own it, that a big joke.

As one of those working crazy hours this week, this thread made me laugh. Why am I giving up family time, basically donating my time, for a company that will probably cut me in a few months? I miss the days when people cared.

You mean like how IN moved on to Connecticut and wants to outsource the government jobs? RIP US workforce. Even state and local government jobs are going overseas.

In their finite wisdom IT leadership decided to eliminate FTE's to lower cost and then awarded the outsourcing contract to the lowest bidder. To continue to make a profit as a result of undercutting their rates to win the contract TCS is not going to pull their best and brightest from other profitable clients to support PepsiCo.

Leadership is blind to the fact that sometimes you need to pay good money to maintain quality service and that usually means having FTE's that know their job, the systems they support and the company. But the joys of being a senior leader like JD is that you will always claim the glory when its not yours and blame others for your incompetence.

Be interesting to see how the leadership puppets spin this one so that it gets blended in with a town hall proclamation of an “incredible drop in incidents”. I am surprised Mr Nut-Bar did not force this to be downgraded to a P5 to hide it from the metrics police. JD has completely lost her grip with reality. The internal melt down has just started but these crooks will have cashed in their stocks and moved in with Omar the tent maker long before they ever face the jury. Isn’t this the same lady that talked about re-training and opportunities last year for those impacted by outsourcing. What few ops people are left are struggling to keep life in the business while JD aims the Pepsi bus at them. What a comedy ! That’s seems to be another great idea lost somewhere between the soap opera presentations and the Mr Rogers leadership lessons. This lady talks a big game but it’s like watching an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies. All this talk about a “Great Company”. Has anyone ever heard of a even a mediocre company with this much internal

mutiny.

Bring back the old PBG IT team that knew how the systems worked and would not clock out just because their shift is ending when routes are not able to leave because the damn systems are not working .

Never seen such incompetence ever. You pay cents and you will get clowns who given matches will not know what to do except start a fire.

Good luck. Let incompetence reign supreme. Tcs takes the cake. How much lies will JD spin on this one.

Stay tuned more blow ups to come guaranteed. ...

Maybe this is all planned to influence a fast track of SAP rollout to PBNA .

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. We don't need no water, let the motherf***er burn.

This is only the beginning of the major screw ups due to outsourcing to managed services. I'm sure they will regret the decision because it is beginning to impact make, move, and sell.

Once IT goes to Hell in a hand basket, JD will move on to the next company and continue her reign of terror.
