Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No weekends ever?

So we were told our schedule today. I dont understand how a company tell you the only way you get a weekend off is if you use your PTO? How is that family oriented? How is that work life balance?

Please explain how they are trying to get long term associates to quit when they get first pick of the two days they want off?! They are taking their weekends off & working am shifts.

I shouldn't have to spend PTO to get a weekend off, somehow that just doesn't feel right. But we haven't really been given our schedule yet at my club, we have a bit of time before we start the day stocking and block scheduling here. June 22... here we come

Hang in there. They are trying to force the long term higher paid associates to quit. This system won’t last long so don’t fall for this manipulative game they are pulling! In the meantime, just use your PPTO for weekends.

My goodness people do you not understand what they are doing. Its all about getting a percent of high paid long term associates to throw in the towel. Respect for thendividual went out the window long ago. This company does not care about you or your family. Less than a year ago the cut someone receiving and most were most likely long term and damn what do you know they about to add more back to receiving. Whats happening to us with block scheduling is nothing compared to whst they did with the overnight guys. The club looks like we are going out of business. You can see one end to the other thru the groceries aisles.

Fresh team leads do not have the option of any weekend days off. We either have M,T or W,T. If a weekend day off is needed we are to either take an unpaid day off or use PTO hours. Had my meeting yesterday.

That is not correct - Depending on what workgroup you fall into you can have a Sunday/Monday off or even a Saturday . I am a COS and with this new block my days off are Sunday and Monday .
