Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Set YOUR vision

99.9% of the employees at AT&T have no input into the vision of their company. So for that reason it makes complete sense to set your own course - for your life, career, health, family, and future. This is true if you are an entry level employee or a President/Senior Vice President. Do not sell your soul or sign up for servitude. A certain income is essential after that you cannot take it with you when you die.

Hey @YP7gkZJ-kvv, Don't waste time trying to understand this nonsense as it's aim was supposed to be some grand revelation for the huddled masses but comes off juvenile and bitter.

I keep working as long as as long as the paychecks keep getting deposited. In the meantime I also stay marketable and keep my resume updated. That’s what “at will employment” means. I’ve set myself up financially where I can just walk away if I choose to. Anyone who ties their life goals to a company they don’t own is a fool.

“I go to work to do a job.” Here’s a guy that can’t throw a football 400 yards while under water.

Some people, have this internal spark to create something, impact lives, or develop social strategies (creation). At this point (at least on the front lines) this “job” is:

Doing a sh-- ton of work to set up 4 accounts for one customer on a POS that is a POS, only to find out 2/3 of the way through that you aren’t going to be able to complete the deal that was agreed upon because the system popped a deposit that there is no way you could have known about, forcing the customer to port their sh-- back out, having wasted your time and effort and having made no sale. Then you have to get “coached” on how to have better numbers. Yeah, good game Kid. Or, maybe its the losing of 544K premium customers (6000 a day) in a single quarter, yet leadership pinning the “growth issue” on retail. F---ing build something people want and price it like your a newcomer to the industry you’re trying to enter instead if waiving your fat, veiny, too big too fail Freddie Mac-ian legacy dong (which you developed in a separate industry) in everyones face. This “job”’is like a got’dam Skinner Box where your only choice is the lever that shocks you and there is never any pellet. On God fam. The vision problem is that cucks like you that don’t understand that when legit constructive feedback is dismissed and targeted as “problematic,” discourse is the only outcome as evidenced by a reinforcement system that primarily punishes the employee. Get rekt

How are we not setting our own course? We come to work to do a job, what does the "vision of the company" have to do with anything? I don't recall selling my soul over. I don't really get it.
