Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Gms just as miserable as reps!

I was an Sm for a long time, finally I made the move to GM, big mistake as some people did warn me. First the pay increase was marginal almost laughable, but still an increase so I took it. What I wasn't prepared for was the amount of stress and obligations that were just impossible to meet. I have never been bad with time management, but now continually struggling. There is something everyday, a call, a deadline something and you can no longer delegate to an sm, a training. So now I'm working 7 days, whether it be at the store or home on calls and answering emails asap because Dm doesn't communicate with Sms and needs answer now. Dm also a joke, delegates all their work to Gms, like we don't have enough to do and micro manages through public forums and callouts in front of peers, because that is motivating. Long story short if you are going to sacrifice yourself for a company make sure you get paid at least 100+ to lose your time off and make your home life miserable enough that drepression sinks in. This job does not care about any employee in the retail channel or it wouldnt have these Dms or Directors facilitating the business this way. I'm not one to sit and complain, so I've already interviewing elsewhere, and waiting back on 2 offers both of which are starting me higher than vzw. The lack of pay from what they expect from you is ridiculous for a job that does not need to be 24/7, but are forcing it down your throat. I Never let my team know how I truely feel since my job is still to motivate them. But that is not transparency now is it. I dont live to work, I work to live. I have friends who make more in my positions at competitors, and similar retail jobs all enjoy their time off and barely hear from their upper echelon, no stress and more pay -that's not a rumor I know these people. See you later vzw, ty for teaching me how not to treat valuable employees.

Dude, GM had always been like that. It's a terrible job and we have a terrible culture.
