Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Quality associates fled the business

Northeast Clubs are doubly penalized. The Home Office for years has promoted high turnover to keep wages low, diversity hires versus standards, and no leadership or communication until it was time to eliminate positions and restructure. Quality associates fled the business. What’s left are the inhabitants of the Government corridor. People already dependent on services or living in states that believe govt is the answer. Work ethic is hard to find. And it fades fast when you only get a 20c/hr raise after giving up your holidays and family time.

Home office is either complacent about these results or theyre ignorant of the outcomes of their decisions in the Northeast. . They're either uncaring/evil or incompetent. If they DO know this is what’s happening, then it indicates they don’t really care about the brand name in the long run. Which indicates something like selling the business or converting it to e-commerce fulfillment and skeleton crews.

Par for the course. If you notice sams for the last many years has to copy costco because they have no original ideas. Right down to the color of the steel beams. Very sad..

Most associates of value have gone or will be gone. Market manager level is the worst right now. They are stretched so thin, they cannot bother with any of the people side of what the business used to be. Why we are suffering a slow death. They walk in and morale for the day...week is shot. Even when the club looks good. Always finding fault in anything. You have a smear om your shoe... that "a" has a spot on it...they are a ridiculous joke. Theres no market fresh managers, no HR, no other leaders. Just have those brow beating, belittling, self absorbed, egotistical mm. There is no time to care, to actually lead and develop every leader as this company was founded on. They cannot handle much of the business and have to prove themselves to RGM's that have no clue what clubs really deal with.

We are unfortunately long gone! Just a matter of time I fear. Hope it’s not so, but my heart and eyes tell me we have hit the wall.

Still says Sam’s Club if only that still meant something . The way these Clubs are operated is a joke. Trashing the namesake of Wal Marts founder and a retail giant of a man. God how we could use Mr. Sam now!

He would clean this Sh-- Show up in two weeks!! Maybe he’s watching this disaster and God will let a leader step in who can save this from PC self destruction. I do not pretend to know, just hoping it happens soon. We will be beyond help soon enough. I fear we have reached the tipping point

The sad part here is that for years, one of the key Markets 15 was treated like a personal playground of the despicable

MM. ultimately his cruelty , incompetence and favoritism among his pet cronies did him in. Best of all he did all the work. It is not the Company it is those really bad actors who through some political networking of the past, were able to obtain positions of responsibility they never should have been given. Northeast is a wreck he was not alone but those terrible Leaders destroyed any opportunity to grow bench players or genuine Market strength. The Company is a

great organization , it has some truly great leaders. The problem is at Regional and Market Level. The are some RGMs that are awesome leaders. The Northeast does not have that today. In place of substance are and have been frauds . Northeast is in trouble esp NY Metro but it cannot be solved by the people leading Clubs who created the issues in the first place. Upper Management must hit these areas in the Northest unannounced weekends and nights . Monday’s are always great first thing! They are an embarrassment we all know that , so our question to Leadership is why don’t you?? If you see it you’ll have to deal these incompetent Managers out, you need to do that because conditions here are k--ling moral , productivity and any element of Fairness in disciplinary process. Many of these people would be cycled out if any honest qualified leadership were in place to follow up. It’s an embarrassment to be part of the Clubs up here. Can’t speak to elsewhere but from Metro NY to Philly come have a look at what passes here every day for Competence. You have id--ts in charge based on diversity who do not even know the fundamentals of Operations . Do something or sell the company and end the misery. Competitors treat us as a laughing stock!! Help us or sell the Franchise if you really don’t care and we are that far gone!!
