Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Caring is not a captured Metric! Get over it!

Long Term State Farm employees were living in a bubble. It isn't how the corporate world works. I don't like it...you don't like it....but it is what it is! Complaining here thinking someone is listening is foolish. I'm sure they are monitoring this cite - but here is the reality.....move on.....do not give them your blood, sweat and tears.....they have no loyalty to you and you should have none for them. You work for them. As long as you are useful you get a check. When you are no longer useful - you are gone. This has been the way in other organizations for YEARS. They were different once. They are not different any longer. I know it hurts. I know it is not what you thought or what you signed up for....But that is the reality. If you want a company with different values - go there. You can't change them here.

So what OP says ..... It's okay to lie about your mission and vision statements to both internal and external customers. Hypocrisy will be their demise. Careless if they monitor it. They need to know what their customers think. Think of those who think it but don't have the courage to confront it.

Directors and Managers are acting really like hot shots and using "metrics" and a long time vendor/consulting company to implement and manage employees. I actually was treated better as an external then internal employee and the Managers are getting an easy job by treating employees like high schoolers and micro managing. One Manager gets off on it and there are lots of Technology Managers now. Not sure why. Other companies don't do that...wasteful and not a real team environment. Just long timers getting lots of attention and high fives. Don't trust their methods or metrics. Everyone has to prove themselves "prove" their worth...except for Directors and Managers. Kinda disgusting really.

It has turned into a sweatshop. The customer is an afterthought it's all about the "metrics". Beware, management is inexperienced and unprofessional..
