Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

How low is too low?

I'm just wondering, with enrollments going down drastically each year, how low would they have to go to trigger closing? How far are we from that point?

Could you maybe quote any sources but your own posts?

I don't know, the overhead and infrastructure is designed to support a much larger organization. Inefficient bureaucracies are historically bad at shrinking their way to survival, and academics are about the worst qualified people to manage this kind of change.

@Y9w1DbF, University of Phoenix could survive if leadership worked to reform the school, and listened to people who actually cared about students and teachers. It wouldn't be easy, because many now are cynical and just out for the money (enough for enrollment reps to stay middle class, or in the case of adjuncts, to pay the rent).

Over the years, I have corresponded with several people who wanted to make a difference, but almost all of them have left. Some resisted the corruption but got fired--which ended up being grounds for some great lawsuits/settlements.

UOP has been closing for years now. Campuses closing every few weeks. Have you not paid attention?
