Balanced reps and large commission checks do not go hand in hand. Those consistently making 4K checks every month are not balanced across the board because they know how to make money. I know a rep last month that made 4K commish and sold a total of 6 strategic products and finished horribly in that metric. His TMP was also only 55% . How did he make the 4K? 300% to quota new and renew and maxed out at a 2.0. Do you think he cares about Winners Circle or Presidents Cabinet when he consistently makes double that of a balanced rep?

Yup, Indirect and all SMB Liaison reps are now BAM's and so on, they've also redoing the entire location and territory for a LOT of business channels; It's a massive shakeup.

South east Indirect here. As of 4/1 national indirect and local indirect will be merging into one channel.

Yes, you're not going to see commissions changing because they just made the switch to scorecard performance for Winner Circle and President Cabinet. What you will see is a large shift in metrics from what those "top performers" drove (i.e. pure boxes) to having to balance everything in order to make it. Meanwhile you've got a much larger pool of balanced reps who may actually see some reward for doing the right thing that people b--ch Verizon doesn't do enough of. The reason you're not seeing multiple managers is 1) yes partly the cuts last round 2) they are not backfilling and 3) there will be store locations and districts that, if they haven't performed better with the reduced hours and shift adjustments from 2018 (10-7pm, closed Sundays) there will be switcheroos and floaters. The only position Verizon did away with in 2016 was the territory managers above district management. And yes, B2B is going to get hit. Retail will not be permitted to adjust accounts (except under limited circumstances) for accounts above 10+ phones. So if you have clients and you work with them as a retail rep, you're going to have to hand most of them off to B2B. They're pushing a LOT of resources into the Business channel and have done so for well over a year. Keep believing otherwise, though...

1) Some stores already have 1GM and 1SM. This happened during the last cuts.

2) Comapny just removed the floating SM position, they will not bring it back. While some floaters were removed from position "Market Floaters" were left.

3) Commisions is NOT changing. It has been succeful, reps who sometimes made no commision check are seing at least 600 dollar check. Reps who had a $4k plus check are doing exactly the same.

So they are not closing all stores 04/01? Hmm...well keep throwing cash into the fire I guess.

They've been working on this for months, you didn't think they sent everyone to Virginia last year for nothing, right? The push over the past 8-10 months is getting reps strong with SMB and having a true SM handling the role (if the store didn't have an engaged manager at that time). Existing SMB retail is getting phased out and any cuts to existing management in various stores will not be backfilled. They've already discussed moving select store management into floating managers, you'll have keyholders and a rep opening the store, and maybe one additional SM (or that floating manager for the day) checking in to provide support. In the end, they'll work to convert everything into retail (no more Indirect or Corporate Retail, just Retail).

When I hired in there were no assistant managers, only one store manager and several key holders. Store an fine, one of the key holders would be the manager on duty when manager was not in store.

In some markets this may be true but this would be considered a massive RIF if done nationally at the same time. Also, let’s not forget that Verizon typically offers a severance package with a notice usually greater then 2 weeks in these situations. IMO manager headcount is pretty steep based on current responsibilities. Floor involvement is nil other then observations and esculations. Daily calls prevent managers from being on the sales floor where they are needed most. 3-4 managers for an 8-10 SS headcount is ridiculous. One manager for every 3 sales people is unheard of in this industry. I do think if Verizon is going with 1 BAR for every store soon is true they should be cross trained with keys and codes as well. This would allow a RIF in solution managers because some can apply for new BAR posistions. There is some truth to all the rumors and speculation.

The LSS has codes now, which means no manager either for several hours in the morning or in the evening. This means 1 manager working per day and if it’s true about the floating SM, then that covers the days off for the GM and SM. Writing is on the wall, there were postings in the South for floating SM’s and they must have pulled them here (premature postings)
