Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

What employees are next in line for elimination, after lower management positions?

It would be naive to think they will stop, and I see a lot of more workers grabbing the bitter end of this constant restructuring and changes. Is there any indication to what employees could be next in line to be cut, or for the elimination of their positions within the company?

My store hasn't had fish tanks or fabric counter in probably close to 10 years (can't remember when remodel was). This more faces on floor to help customers is a b---s--- lie they keep telling themselves when they eliminate positions or at least at my store because someone either quits or gets fired so whatever position got eliminated takes that 1.

Any positions where you have a desk will be eliminated.....receiving, claims, etc....Fish tanks will be taken out, jewelry counters, fabric counters....at some point the stores will be warehouses that are closed to the public. The only way to shop at Walmart will be online & pickup!

They are, and will continue, getting rid every straight, Christian, white, male above the age of 50. Where I work, in the past year, we have lost 7 associates - all fit this demographic. If you are an executive, they always say you are retiring, or looking for new adventures, which the worked bees simply disapear one day. In their place, we get mediocre women, often of color, who are clueless. At Walmart, we celebrate mediocrity, in the name of diversity. I am certain that the moderator of this website will remove my comments - as has been done to all of my comments for the past month. It is my personal understanding that corporate affairs at Walmart monitors all comments, and, if they do not like the comments, they contact the moderator of this website to have them removed. Therefore, this website is nothing but a fraud.

If you work for walmart, your job is going to be eliminated at some point. It's a fact of life here in Hell.

To the Kool-Aid slurping wanna-be Gestapos on here always defending and supporting Walmart's thirst for more $$ at the price and livlihood of their loyal employees, riddle me this:

Walmart continues to be USA's largest private sector employer. If you choke off your employees' ability to earn any kind of living wage, such that they and their families cannot buy the nation's goods and services, thereby keeping cash flow circulating in a healthy economy....how much is your money worth?

Snarky non answer responses only, please

They've put millions into their ecommerce and it's paying off in sales. 43% increase in ecommerce last quarter alone. Some of these mo--ns on here don't realize it's not 1978 anymore and technology is taking over. Change or die.

Yes I imagine you have to evolve, but why haven’t they done anything to evolve their online shopping , their website has been awful for years! So much more could have been done to incorporate in store experience and online:(

I believe they want to get rid of all long term associates. If you have a "gold" badge they want you out. Why? Because they can hire 2 people for the amount of money they are paying a "gold" badge long term employee. Managers have told me this right to my face.

In this retail environment change is inevitable. As a business, if you don't evolve with the times you will stagnate and die.
