I have noticed that a lot of associates seem to be spiteful on this particular chat. I have worked days and nights for years, I have also been in low tier clubs and high tiers. Now, let me set this straight from the angle I see it.
Both night crew and day crew both rely on each other in a symbiotic relationship within the club; however, I have always noticed that days blame nights for their problems, while nights blame days for their problems.
The challenge for night crew will be, dealing with the stress of being stopped by members requiring service randomly while performing job, censorship/filtering of personal language, answering of radio, maintaining a positive attitude in work environment, last... no music.
The challenge for day crew, you will no longer be pulling empty boxes, you will now be required to stock empty shelves and move whole ailes of merchandise which tends to be more physically demanding. Also, the work demand will overall increase since the number of hours using the forklift..."the most useful tool"... to perform the work for you, will decrease.
We must realize that the people making the concepts are very rarely in the field, and whenever they go into the field, they announced themselves giving time for the clubs to prepare, followed by these corporate representatives being pampered like babies. These corporate managers' heads' would spin if they did random drop-ins, but they would also lose their jobs, because they do not want to report nothing but good news, because that is how you move up the corporate ladder.
I can see this change being successful in low tier clubs, but high tier clubs will have a much more difficult time. Higher sales, higher volume of freight, more pallets need stocking, more time needed, a lot more members requiring assistance causing significantly increased amount of distractions. If the managers are of poor quality, they will then hold their associates accountable for poor job performance, resulting in loss of work crew. these effects compound on one another.
The last problem is universal in the whole club, attendance, with the new rules, I question the stability of high volume clubs to maintain a workforce after restructure, but I just do what I am told, best not to be know as the one who thinks outside-the-box. lol. safer that way.
If this works, I foresee am shift blaming pm shift for their problems, and pm blaming am shift. These things do not change in whatever club you go too. Lol.
I think it’s safe to say that @Y2Aox5f-1gvi is absolutely right about this
