The grief and anger many here are expressing is understandable, even justified. Don't let it consume you. It's really destructive to your health and those around you. I've been there, too. Channel it into your career search. Take the attitude of, "screw you GM, I'm going to land an even better position".

You figure you spend about 40% of your life working and driving, 33% of it sleeping. That leaving about 27% left to you and family in any given day.

Seems to me that work is taking up way too much time in a persons life. Indebtedness is the new slavery, and to have things, means we must work. Homeless doesn't sound promising either.

What a world.

You can say what you want but when you spend 40+ hours there, it's a big part of your life and you don't leave your values and self at home when you go to work. You invest a lot in any company you work for and when let go, the loss feels the same as someone dying. A hollow empty feeling. Nothing is just a job for money, because that would be sad.
