Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

eFF IT!

We all know that there are more layoffs coming that we can not prevent. Why stress about it. Eventually, it will impact everyone even the ones that believe they're safe. There's nothing that you can do. Life is so much more than stressing about ”what ifs.”

I constantly see people terrified of taking a vacation, working over 8hrs a day, doing the most when people don't give a damn. Just enjoy your time while it last

It's me again. Last day is 2/12. HERE IS THE UPDATE I promised. No one in my group found a job, 1 person did get an interview but no luck. Stay for the full 60 day notice. No worries about a job being offered to you. You accrue vacation, get 5 extra weeks pay and stay on Insurane 1 month longer. Also, you will fill out more forms/paperwork to get off the payroll, than you submitted when you were hired. I am downright giddy up for the madness to end. Good luck all...off to unemplyment.

An executive troll posted this request to give up hope and just obey: "Everything is on track. RS and his underlings are in good standing, Spred all the word around you want, it will not impact the business. The loss of a couple million customers is not even a blip on the radar. "

Desperation. The goal here is to get you to lose hope that you can do anything to fight back. The fact is this: RS is on strike 2. He over paid for DTV and then proceeded to force the ice cube to melt faster. His minion Stankey is now bringing the magic of "industry leading cost structure" to the TW acquisition. Now that ice cube will melt. Good going boys. That will be strike 3. Our boy RS is in hotter water than the post referenced above have you believe. He and his minions are the ones who should be worried--and believe the post may be evidence that they are.

Not sure why everyone is all so upset over the surplusses. you should have been raising cane 5 years ago when they were making the plans for this big 2020 vision, which the BOD is fully on board with, as the long term vision for the company. Everything is on track. RS and his underlings are in good standing, Spred all the word around you want, it will not impact the business. The loss of a couple million customers is not even a blip on the radar. And as long as they still pay those great divedends, investors won't say a word. Everyone just needs to get on board with reality.

Keep in mind that the board of directors can and will be influenced the reputation of competence of these people. If it becomes apparent that AT&T is going off the rails the short sellers will come out of the woodwork and the stock price will be in danger. We all know what a house of cards AT&T is. We know how the layoffs are affecting the customers. RS has a tiger by the tail. And if the TW acquisition doesn't pay off big time there will repercussions. RS has 2 strikes already: 1) Failed T-Mobile acquisition, 2) DTV did not bring the revenue promised and is in fact an ice cube melting faster than anyone predicted. Strike 3 will be if TW doesn't perform well enough to fill in the gaping hole in the balance sheet due to the incredible debt that financed RS's vanity project.

"There is something you can do. Spread the word about AT&T. They have been able to keep these rather large layoffs on the down low for some time. "

I respect what you said, but keep in mind the Board of Directors is who's managing Randall and the other officers. If they are content with him, it's not going to be easy to bring social pressure on them to have him removed. BTW, the investment firms hold abut 55% of the stock and used that leverage to put the directors they want on the board. Do they care about employees? Doubt it. And to those being terminated, it's their first ugly time. For the board, they're used to it and don't care.

There is something you can do. Spread the word about AT&T. They have been able to keep these rather large layoffs on the down low for some time. This is unacceptable and it is something that we can all do something about. We can make sure that friends, relatives, and neighbors know. We can also make sure they know WHY these layoffs are happening. They are the result of very bad decisions on the part of executive "leadership". Ultimately the jobs of the top "leadership" depend on an image of competence and control of the situation. As those of us who work there know, it is out of control. The debt incurred in some very poor bets is coming due and the executives are out of options that don't involve dismantling the company. The changes that they have brought about to imitate the Silicon Valley startup culture (Workplace 2020) combined with the new edict to not work from home are causing major oversubscription problems with the designated workspaces. How many people outside of AT&T know this? There are so many small but useful ways to fight back. Be creative. Don't fight among yourselves, focus on exposing the incompetence of those who make up the executive leadership and the fruits of that incompetence. These are things we can do that seem small but in the aggregate will have a desired effect.

I will report in after 2/12 and let you know how wonderful it will be to not worry about badge swipes, 2020 and LWD training, TOM notices, strike assignments, NANO NANO degrees, collaboration zones, conference calls and Metrics. Please keep the board updated with the adventures of the Candy man, Skankey legs and the Johns. This is not my monkey, not my circus anymore. Good luck to all.
