As someone who finished TRACK last year I’m not sure how you believe TRACK employees will lead GM into the future. Most (myself included) are completely clueless until someone shows them the ropes. I felt the program was a waste of time and I got little out of it. If it wasn’t for senior engineers that took the time to help me develop then I would be useless. I know people about to finish school that have TRACK offers to start this summer. GM should cancel those offers and retain knowledgeable engineers instead of people with little experience. The only downside to this would future candidates avoiding GM.
