Has anyone heard about future plans for Indirect Account Managers? I have heard the possibility of combining. Everything seems very quiet with Verizon 2.0.

Sorry to hear. I survived the day but lost some good teammates. Sad day for all involved
My Team in the NE market lost 5 account managers, including myself. That’s half the team gone :(
Its true. National and local combining like it was years ago. Lots getting let go from indirect, operations and retail
National AM here. Lost two teammates this morning. Director said across the country locals and nationals lost headcount for account managers, district managers, and directors. Hybrid setup has been confirmed. We’ve been told territories will be change to accommodate the combination, new district managers to report to, and possibly a new comp structure starting April 1
I can confirm IAM layoffs, I was let go this morning. Heard the Agent and National retail are combing.
I thought layoffs only happened on the Thursday before a pay day?
Few people got let go today in NE area..layoffs have started
The 21st is approaching rapidly, the date many have been suspicious of and today in the NE DMs were all in a meeting and not on our area call. Scary stuff.
Something about to go down. Directors have called down to their territories and no one can talk.
Stay awake people. If no jobs have been posted it’s not looking good. I don’t think there would be a voluntary package offer. Sort and purge...rank and rate....
@4nbt I’ve been staying up on the job postings for some time and haven’t seen an indirect account manager position opened anywhere in the country for weeks. I did see a director position open in Washington a couple weeks ago for Indirect but it did not specify locals or nationals, it was just listed as Director Indirect Sales. Makes me wonder even more if they are going back to hybrid reps
Positions still being backfilled in sem indirect. I would love a package.
If they do go back to a hybrid local/national rep, I wonder if they will have locals and national account managers interview to compete for the jobs or if they will just assign them out of the gate and give walking papers to the ones who weren’t chosen.
Our DM ROLLED OUT A NEW SCHEDULE FOR US TODAY! Required to work 3 sat a month. Must work min of 2. They are trying to panic people into quitting. I’m fine with working Saturdays, but there are a lot of people that took the job bc we only worked Sat during 4q. Stay strong...don’t let big bad red take you down! Haven’t heard anything but hearsay, but we are in North and have heard same about Combining.
Probably a combo which might mean layoffs.
Having retail managers visit indirect retailers creates a huge conflict of interest. Attorneys would have a field day exploiting that. As for AMs having off at 1pm everyday, must be nice and shame on them. That’s not how things are run in our area. Everyone is saying national and local will combine, which is hilarious because that’s what it was 7 years ago. It’s amazing that the company can’t see mistakes made in the past and learn from them. There will be lay-offs when the two groups are combined AGAIN. They just laid off tenured trainers across the company, I’m sure those positions will be posted again shortly. Once you hit 15 years of service you are at risk and will eventually be discarded and replaced.
I am in nationals in what’s now the west area. Not a word of information over here. They haven’t even given us a updates that retail has received as far as how the regions and territories break down in the new west area. I’ve been in touch with the local account manager too, and they’ve heard nothing either. Originally we were told we would hear something mid December, then mid January, now mid February... so we will see if they change it again to mid March before they tell us anything.
Don’t have a great feeling about it since it’s taking so long
I heard there's going to be an announcement Feb 28th/March 1st ...NE Region
Not speaking for all, but the Indirect account managers I have observed seem to not have much to do. They seem to do the store visits the first week of the month with each visit taking no longer than an hour. The rest of the month they are off by 1pm.
Just seems that Verizon could eliminate the dedicated indirect channel and have retail DM’s take over. They could then delegate retail GM’s to visit the indirect stores close to their own locations.
Or at the very least combine national and local indirect.
Haven’t heard a word yet
Local/national combo?
