Why is wireline hiring construction managers ?
Recieved company email today asking as for employees to refer canidates to HR .

Construction definately NOT WORST job. That would be sert or splicer, the guys that are overwhelmed with may more than just sitting in their trucks 80% of the day.

I don’t understand your analogy. I’ve been to the circus a few times, saw elephants, lion tamers, trapeze artists, fellas being shot outta cannons and into nets, various acrobats, clowns, jugglers, sometimes supposed freaks, and the like. One thing I never saw at a circus - a puppet show.
Actually it’s worse actually doing the work, the physical labor, out in the elements, rather than being in the comfort of a warm office, in a comfy chair, engaging in a circle jerk of meaningless emails, passing the buck, and pushing work off your plate and onto somebody elses, while productivity is happening all around you by the very individuals you’re yelling at and trying to suspend.
Worst job in the company you could be in.
Lower cost manager that dont need to know the job,they just have to know how to be micro managed from above,i guess they should just spend a couple of billion to buy a circus ..this way they all could have puppets to run the show..this company has turned into a real live circus,i didnt take the buy out,will just wait to be riffed ,i have time ,so if i get riffed it makes no difference to me..one day at a time...
Wireline outside craft already has plenty of management . What we need is more fiber placed , not more bosses . New cut rate inexperienced management will not add any meaningful value.
There are many more years of work needed to complete the network build and quite a few managers just recently took the money and ran. It only makes sense they would be replaced. Why such bewilderment?
Mebbe cuz wireline is building the 5G network....
Really? It’s because a lot just left and now they will be replaced at a lower cost.
