Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Sam’s is finished growing, they are now diying .

If no one is looking at trends it’s been years Sam’s has not open a new club, they are closing clubs eliminating positions. Sam’s are now making decisions biased on what executives had in in their coffee or what they smoked. It’s just a matter of time the company will go under. Costco on the other hand are growing, opening new stores and taking care of their employees. Sam’s has always been no match for Costco because Costco takes pride in their people and has Unions that are for the people. With Sam’s and Walmart not being unionized no one can be protected. The PTC was considered the people person for years, now it’s all over. When you don’t invest in your people who will run the business?

To the author of this and all who may read this, you could very well be right and the company has experienced the beginning of the end. However, you are mistaken with regards to Costco and being unionized, they are NOT unionized, they do expect a lot for their associates though and obviously reward them accordingly. As to the closures vs. Costco Openings, Sam’s Club had OVER 200 more clubs than Costco at the time.

As a part time cashier, who studies Accounting/Marketing/Economics. I give it 10-11 years tops before the company starts really dying off. I have two semesters left, but I am going to quit in September if I make it that long. It was a good job while finishing up school.
