If they were to tell everyone what's really going on then people would panic and their stocks would drop.

Contact the media and tell them everything that's been happening over the past 2 yrs.
Maybe someone needs to contact the media for all the people that lost their jobs over the 3 month time frame
Exactly! This way the media doesn't really hear of anything. They will also probably hold off on closing more stores until next year so people have time to forget about it.
