Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Accrual

So I was accruing 1 hour pto for every 6.8 hours worked

Now they moved it to over 8 hours

And that's fair?

28 years and this?

Sam's Club attendance policy changed to a 5 point system effective 2/02/2019. It showed up on Amp 2/01/2019, but no one talking about it yet. Terrible

If you look at your total PTO accrual- nothing changed. You still earn the same total PTO, unless you are 3 yrs or less.

If you look at the amount of time you receive,it will be about 22 hours less than last year. You only earn 1hour for 30 hours of protected PTO. The years of service has changed and you can not get all of your PTO unless you are allowed overtime.

This new policy is a total con job by the Walmart company. Look at the policy versus last year and due the math

Calm down buttercup they’ll explain it once they themselves understand it. A group of lawyers got together to make it sound like it’s a awesome deal we’re getting. Hold tight we’ll find out more on Monday.

Why attendance only approved for pregnant or children? That doesn't seem right. Is this really true? I haven't heard of any changes.

I am almost certain that this new PTO & Attendance program is only changing for Wal-Mart right now. The only thing changing for Sam’s is the Attendance Policy that includes approved absences for Pregnant Associates and associates that have children still being cared for at home.

The pto rate for 20+ year associates went from 6.8 to 8.86. You also get 1 hour of protected pto for every 30 hours worked. That's terrible.

Well we won't really know until we're in it for a bit. If I know the Walton's, they make things sound hunky dory when we're really getting screwed.

I do have a friend on Walmart side that is losing a lot through this new method. He's been with the company for 24 yrs. He was getting about 5 weeks of PTO per year, and now it'll be 2 weeks.

It was available on the WIRE and Walmart One yesterday. You are not losing hours. It actually works to the associates advantage. The "Protected PTO" bucket means up to 48 hours of PTO has to be counted as approved absences. You can use tt for whenever you want with no consequences but after the 48 hours are used the attendance policy kicks in. Very similar to the previous policy but changes are expected soon.

The new attendance policy stated yesterday Feb 2. It’s on the news. Probably will he explained Monday at your morning meeting but I agree they could of told us on Friday before the network tv news told us. As I’m told this pto bucket for attendance is addition to the way you earn pto for time off. Two kind. Bonus money per quarter for good attendence, etc.

Well there are two pots now. I could not understand how it works. I have worked three years and cannot understand if it is you work 30 hours and get one hour in regular pto and one hour in protected pto.. Or if you have to work 30 to get on hour of protected. And than another 30 to get regular. If it is the former, no change to how much I earn now. If it is the latter, it will take me the whole year just to get max out my 6 days of protected pto never mind just regular pto. I am going to guess they will not pay both pots at same time.

Why hasn't then been told to all clubs? I don't believe this is true. When they changed PTO before they gave a big notice. Our club hasn't said a word about this either.
