I'm a PTC and today I was brought into the office and my CM informed me that my position would be going away. I asked about severance and my CM stated that becuase they are able to offer me a new position as a Cashier that they are not required to give any form of severance. This is really happening folks. I asked him if this is across the board and he said that clubs will be informing all PTCS this week. Good luck to all of you.

This post isn’t correct about being offered the cashier position & not getting severance! The Cashier position is not equivalent to the PTC position so if you decide to leave you will get severance! If your manager still claims that you don’t go above his head use the open door

This is true 2/5/2019 @ 3:00 p.m.. PTC's were informed positions have been eliminated, they have till March 29 to secure a position or leave the company. Sad day at Sam's club. Most PTC's are the heart of the club's.

Studies and research shows that companies make money from such generous return policies. You haven't fact checked the outcome of restrictive return policies. This company knows what they are doing as far as making money goes, they would tighten returns if it cost them. It doesn't. Even the mattresses. Sam's doesn't take the hit. Serta does.

So, they are on a hiring freeze in order slide PTC into a lower paying position? What if you don't have anything else in your preference? Or availability? You get ripped off of full time hours and your pay. Let's not forget that you will be called on to by management to still do the PTC work because they don't have time or the knowledge to do it completely. I am not a PTC but I don't think it is right to do this.
The company is scrambling to recoup as much money for it's self. Just look at what they're going to do with the Sam share. Sam sure will now be calculated using membership, sells, an MX voices. So in other words you're not kissing the members b***s you won't get a full share ever in the company will recoup more money. But I'm really saying is there's other ways to save money than eliminating positions. Our members enjoy coming to our clubs because we have staff. We have associates on the floor that are willing and able to help them over our competitors. Eliminating positions will also eliminate members.
