I personally think they should outsource the entire company, especially the executives.
Mediocre fixed income results...
State Farm’s Investment Department has a little different mission than most. They are basically charged with getting a safe, reliable return and minimizing investment losses. This is an organization with huge reserves, but much of that money is legally required to remain in reserve. Can’t be out there playing reindeer games with the money just to impress all the amateur investors who want to comment on it.
If you look hard at actual investment department performance you'll see they're B grade. Compared to the competitive landscape they do okay but not great. Tippy knows this and that's why it was one of the first departments to be flattened years back.
That means giving up control of the $$$$……. doubtful
The Investments department generates returns that compensate when underwriting results are poor. Exec loves them. I don't see why the Investments department would be outsourced.
Have Vanguard invest it for us via their index funds. Low expenses and good returns.
Why not - everything else is.
