First, my apologies to all those surplused today, I know it’s horrivle feeling like a punch in the gut. For us still hanging on, what’s next? Is it confirmed ATO specifically will have another round of this next quarter? That already planned? Will the people outside of a CZ be given the chance to relocate if they desire, even on their own dime? Thank You

I'm 59 with 22 years and I'm now surplused. I've been looking internally and outside the company. I'm not holding out hope I'll find something internally so it's pretty scary thinking of "starting over" at my age. I followed all the wf2020 direction and have actively been taking alot of course work in developing my skills for the future and it made zero difference. I wish everyone still employed there my best wishes. Scary times.
From WP2020 mission: “employ staff based on talent, regardless of location”. Well, I guess that is until leadership destroys the company with their horrible decisions! They are a bunch of arrogant. Hypocritical, clowns!
@xvw-I read that most people not even be given th option of moving to a CZ in their current job, instead would have to apply for a new job avail in a CZ. Not sure how much truth there is in that statement but wouldn’t doubt it at all.
If you weren't cut in this round, and you do NOT live in or near a Collaboration Zone - the recommendation is to move near one ASAP if you want to keep your job.
Many of those that work from home are due to medical reasons and had to provide the necessary medical documentation. Laying of people that work from home under these circumstances, opens the doors for a lawsuit. ATT missing the mark on hiring the best people. If you limit yourself to only collaboration hubs, you're missing out on a large talent pool.
Next round is in April
I am ATO management, safe this round. Yes- there will be more, expect next one likely in April to focus on location as well as more heavily on vpn/teleworkers and those who T determines “aren’t interested” in collaborating.
I was an ATO manager impacted by today’s cuts. It’s my understanding there will be more reductions the next couple of quarters.
Budget cuts and more layoffs.
For ATO management employees, YOU aren’t surplussed, your POSITION is surplussed. You may be given the option to apply for other jobs within the company. For example, if you are surplussed, you could apply for jobs in a Collaboration Zone and relocate there at your own expense. Based on what people who were suplussed over the past three years, it’s easier to get a job outside of AT&T than it is to land one internally. Cut your losses and go work for a company that values its employees.
Think about it this way.
T hasn’t hit a rough patch with with quarterly losses on the bottom line.
So ask yourself, does it look like they turned a corner and are on the upside?
This maybe the beginning a long rough ride. Good luck to all.
