Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This Company Has a P/E Ratio of 5.9!!!

A typical Fortune 100 corporation has a Price / Earnings ratio of 15 to 20. AT&T is selling for a third of that! Word has gotten out about what a poorly managed business this is.

Due to incompetent leadership, this corporation is rotting from the inside out. Leadership is loading this company up with tremendous levels of debt to make poorly thought out acquisitions while abandoning the companie's core businesses. A leveraged-buyout scammer couldn't do a better job of destroying a company than AT&T's top leadership has!

And now, to pay for these irresponsible acquisitions, leadership is laying off essential, highly experienced workers en masse.

Sometimes cheap stocks are a good investment. In this case, however, there is a very good reason

the stock loses value year after year.

This company is being transformed into a shell corporation. A company that offshores major, strategic functions (IT and customer service) and uses cheap H1B labor. Newsflash to the execs- you get what you pay for! A cheap foreign workforce is going to result in a lower P/E ratio because that kind of workforce does not have talent- it does not add value or drive innovation. It just gets the bare minimum job done at bargain basement prices. Is that how you want to run a business? Like a fire sale? Think about that.

Randall should have been let go right after the $35B T-Mobile debacle, along with the legal/finance team that approved the terms of the deal.

Come on the "core business" was bleeding money and users for years - The Industry is changing rapidly. I think you're more frustrated with Capitalism than leadership. These meeting quarterly profit estimates to the shareholders is unsustainable. A business can not keep beating revenue and profits without cuts, change of direction, adding trying new areas of business growth. any CEO's loyalties are to the shareholders and Wallstreet - take your complaints there instead.

If there were true leaders in this company we would not be in this position today. The use of leadership to describe Randall and all the other incompetents in upper management is a joke.
