@1vfz ... and there in is the problem, the amount of $138K after tax is approximately one years pay for many techs. If Verizon has a boat load of techs that have 4 or 5 years to go to retirement then why now? They would make more by staying.

If a tech is 63 and has a-- full retirement age of 67, they might as well stay.

@rtj: The special EISP that has been offered in the past and is mentioned in the contract is $50K lump sum and $2200 per year of service capped at 40 years. The maximum amount would be $138K if you had 40 years. (50,000+88000)

Don’t think it’s going to be that $6600 plus 100k offer that is rumored. I think it’s going to be the regular $2200 plus 50k.

Is it like $6000 per , plus years ? A regular Eisp that has come out in the past comes out to about $150,000, that ain’t cutting it !

“ When you can be more specific on dates and for who then you can post.”

And you call me arrogant. You are exactly the response I was talking about when I said people are going to spew hate. If you are not union and are not eligible for an eisp, why do you feel the need to comment on it. When you join a union, then you can post.

@tma

Your arrogance exactly why I can’t stand Unions. Please get off your high horse and get back to work.

@ixe

Eisp’s are for union associates and we don’t get laid off. Don’t concern yourself with something you’re not eligible for.

Very good source. Can’t give name. I know that people are going to spew hate and jokes but I’m just letting you know that one is coming. Take it for what it’s worth.

Not really big news there. Layoffs have been going on in at least one channel pretty much every year for a few years now. When you can be more specific on dates and for who then you can post.
