Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

When is the next layoffs at Oracle

I am very fond of layoffs. I have had experiences with 6 layoffs. Each one gave me an opportunity to explore another company in the world. I wish I get my 7th one soon and happily seek something outside Oracle.

I have been laid off 3 times. Each time it opened doors to better opportunities. Also I was able to bank the severance. Now I am getting close to retirement, a severance would be a nice boost to my retirement next egg

OP is damn right: not many companies in USA increase employee compensation annually. The only way to boost compensation is to move to new companies, if possible every 3-5 years. If you are lucky, you can get 20% hike during negotiation phase. (If you are unlucky, your compensation could drop too.)

This is a continues process. HR is working very hard to keep the lazy employee. Even though there are many tools exist in the company to measure the performance of the employees like BugDB, ade, etc... PMTS working for many years not crossed even 90 bugs are still working hard to achieve 100 bugs. Is this is how the management and HR works.

Wow! That's quite an experience.

Can you shed some light into how you were able to re skill / re invent each time so as to be relevant and competitive in the job market? I'm sure your experience can help us all.
