Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

so i had this though today

Im an SM and though today what are we doing?? we are promoting this "self service" to the customers with in store pickups, salesforce, virtual business cards and my links and when Verizon finally gets this down to a science, what will happen to everyone? LET GO!!!

stand up, tell your SM's and GM's you do not want to send out business cards, don't put salesforce leads in....and stop telling customers that they can do it all online and just pick it up, lets get back to selling, lets stop acting like a holes when customers that walk in....

and please oh please stop selling HUM

Wake up folks. If you've been with Verizon for any amount of time you have seen the system that is in place now for several years. VZ got rid of tech support. Then customer service, then gutted the financial team that over saw retail inventory, then got rid of retail Ops then got rid of most IT support. Then 2 managers from each store were laid off nationwide. R2B is soon to follow. The R2B folks don't bring in enough business to supper keeping them. More store closures coming in 2019 and many retail sales positions being eliminated. And soon, most VZ retail will be converted to indirect. Think it isn't going to happen to you, ask the thousands of VZ employees that were kicked out the door across the country over the past 6 years. YOUR NEXT!

Obviously you are a trash SM. Anyone with half a brain knows better than to believe that you are actually a manager. You know what would happen in my store if we told our manager that. Insubordination, and we would be in the unemployment line a lot faster than what you are talking about. What c-ap, geez, go troll somewhere else.

Same here, we are being threatened with write ups for everything, pull through, tmp, not selling enough tablet, not selling enough hum, not offering this or that, not enough business leads,....it's b---s---. No morale and people are starting to drop like flies, not to mention with new comp structure nobody is making money.

Our dm has started to heavily suggest we'll get written up if we don't sell hums. He's a mo--n and that product is straight garbage. The product that takes the longest to set up and has the highest return rate only retires $50 to my bucket. At this point I'd rather they just take commissions away and increase my base salary because they're making it impossible to succeed unless your a total piece of sh--.

Verizon has been on this "self service" train since at least when the iphone originally came to vzw and the pos was redesigned to match the .com checkout process. Making retail redundant was always part of the plan and can't be stopped, just a slow painful death now.

I mean polish up that resume and apply elsewhere, Verizon is not worth it. Working like a dog in retail. If you don't have an education I would suggest get one and find a real career path that allows a great work life balance
