Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Joke

This company is an absolute joke. They don’t care about employees and certainly do not care about customers. I’m so happy I got out when I did. Verizon leaders have no moral compass. My conscience ate away at me for 4 years, slamming customers with products they didn’t want and Frankly couldn’t afford. Countless times I watched coworkers, and even managers sell Hums to people that 1) didn’t have a smart phone, 2) didn’t have a compatible vehicle, or 3) thought they had to take or else they wouldn’t get a phone for $200 with $180 in free accessories. Imagine any other retail chains doing what Verizon doesn’t teach selling, they teach manipulation and slamming. They’ve already taken 15-30k out of your pockets each year by screwing with the commission. Do you really think any changes they will make in the future are to benefit reps? It clearly shows from the last few years that their goals are not to help reps, they are to save money so the people at the top can make even more. F*** this place. You could go to 10 different corporate stores and talk to 20 different reps, and I guarantee you will never get the same answer for prices. Get OUT! Tell them to shove that $800 commission ($500 after taxes) up their arses. Go get a job working m-f and make just as much, if not more.

What I have a problem with is now all of a sudden every one has a problem now that the money is low, pockets are touching, and now we wanna call out some slamming because no matter what you do now you can't make money. Time to act was eons ago, too late now.

I can't believe people never saw this coming. It's the reason why I left. I remember telling coworker once "they will get rid of commission one day if not it'll be impossible to hit and eventually hire minimum wage people. He was in denial..... "verizon wouldn't do that.. people would quit"

Commission will soon be a thing of the past, the company just wants a bunch of $9 an hour workers to sell accessories to people when they come in to do an in store pickup. The writing is on the wall, our gm thinks our store is gone as soon as our lease is up, we are short staffed and have 0 applications for our open spots, nobody can take a vacation because we're short staffed. This place is a joke.

Please get rid of sycophant and insanely overpaid Tami Erwin. That move alone would cleanse dozens of highly compensated and artificially propped up lackeys connected to the velvet hamster.

Its amazing how they will get after you for taking a return but glorify someone for slamming an item and lying to a customer and getting the sale. But when it is trying to get returned make the customer feel as if it's a wrong decision for them to return it or even if it's Ard they will ask well why don't you want it or want to exachnge to buy something more expensive even when the customer has told them they either don't need it or can't afford it. I've seen reps sell to vulnerable people, example they lost their job and husband's are abusive and they use that info as ammo to snake them to buy a hum and disclose no return fees or activation fees. It's sad. Commison is trash, work life balance is non existent. They will and are weeding out the people who can't sell and people who can it's both spectrums, people deserve to make more money yet traffic isn't here anymore and people aren't buying and flooding stores as before. They will end up with a workforce of people who never knew what the commison was before be fine with 500 to 900 commission checks and 12 an hour. Grass is greener on the other side. Work a Mon to Fri and live life. I can't believe people work here 10 to 15 years and are content as a sales rep.

Brothers, I totally agree with ya’ll at least standing up strong, and saying what it actually is, Why do we think the bucket targets are so high? Why isn’t the commission structure not the same? Bcz they wanna make sure the so called, “Good For Nothing” management teams eats & we work!! Simplle as that. CWA is the only answer, we’ve seen the folks at AT&T not put up with this. This company only has respect for people who literally work their a** to a slavery level to keep management numbers happy & that damn leaderboard doesn’t pay “U”, its just there for namesake, with all the recognition given to the Manager anyways. So yes totally agreed here. We Do a lot for this company & we gotta get paid fair. This ain’t no joke!!

amen brother this place is pointless this comp plan is a joke. Managers who never sold before are telling us to do things they never had to do. DM are the pointless position in the company and does nothing but mirco manage gm and sm with whatever the fire of the days is. Hum needs to go away it is 2019 cars already do that and no one cares for it all they do is come back. I have never seen one sold that was no slammed on a customer. We will be the next Well's Fargo. It is time to stand up and join together -join CWA. Think about what is the worst that could happen it get worse.
