I hear there will be phase2 of LRs coming - after the November '18. All under-performing BUs will be impacted. Cisco is feeling the pinch of trade wars and "CX transformation" is not convincing customers and partners that Cisco knows what Cisco is doing. Bringing in super-expensive external "fresh blood" in no way guarantees success without proper change management, well conceived transition plan. Proof in point: half of the newly created roles have no concrete detailed job descriptions, success criteria, cohesive strategy and solid integration points. Cisco paid millions in losing brand value, employee loyalty and market share and for what - basically renaming "customer support" to "customer experience"? Gutted several departments. Disseminated very promising Jasper IoT acquisition. Dont know what to do with AppD, unclear acquisition of Accompany... Stock is sinking. Sad. Where is Cisco board of directors in all of this? There does not seem to be any checks-balances. Sad to see the gradual deterioration of a once great company. Cisco will be joining zombie army of IBM and HP soon and others...

Europe is always behind the US due to labour laws, so it probably is from the same bucket.
Seen several CX employees in Europe go over the last 2 weeks. Looks like this is not finished.
25% cut in CX. Too much deadwood.
so, when is the next round coming? March? Sooner?
"Gloom and Doom" commenter is lazy. THe "comments" provided no value, insights - just another brainwashed "loyal" employee, who will be crushed by Cisco cost savings machine in due time...

perhaps the start of the final journey that lucent/nortel did all those years ago or HP before it got split up....
on one hand they cannot hold back the tidal wave of market changes around traditional R&S. they are late with "lindt" (forever seems to be in demo mode) , https://fossbytes.com/cisco-developing-networking-operating-system-named-lindt/ and even if its shipped will bring home pennies where old gear tied to hw used to bring dollars
use of merchant asics that everyone else uses .... no much differentiator anymore in feature or quality(shudder).
i see the huge R&S headcount as ripe for big slasher parties by ceo.
but which good SW co would want to get purchased by cisco? salesforces? informatica? workday?
why would they.
