Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

You know it's rough when

You know it's rough at T when you don't hear much about fraud and scams that employees are doing to keep their jobs. Is it my imagination?

DirecTV guy here - let me assure you that people are being signed up for c-ap they never ordered. My team cancels 40 percent of our jobs because the customer had no idea they had been signed up for service. As far as they knew, they had just dropped into a store to pick up a new charger cable for their IPhone. No idea that the Rep built a new install order for them. Same for existing customers who call about the January price increase, they call and b--ch, then get a phantom Genie 2 POS Upgrade that puts them back into a two year contract. We cancel these BS orders by the handful. You can keep your cheap wh--e 50 buck bonus.

Sales is under a "wells fargo scandal" level of pressure to sell anything and everything they can to customers, which is causing a ton of extremely negative experiences for customers and field technicians / field managers. They are commiting borderline fraud.

The biggest scams I see internally lately are from sales. I can't tell you how many customers call to have their bill lowered, and then before they know it, a technician shows up at their house with a new account number (sometimes their old account number) to install fiber services / DirecTV. Customer had no idea they were coming, had no idea they had a new account made, and flat out didn't even order fiber, speed increases or even directv! So, the poor technician has two choices: Smart chat / call tier 2 and spend hours on the phone undoing what some zero integrity a--hole did to the poor customers account, which makes his results for the day s---. Or, he cancels the ticket, making his results s---. The p-ss-d off customer cancels their services outright with the company.

Complain about this to area managers / directors, they accuse us of making excuses and talking the customer out of wanting the service. Technicians and managers are literally begging customers to let us install it, and of course customers are telling us to get off their property... which i cant really blame them for.

I just think everyone has given up on the company. It's a sign of the oncoming end for T.

Have never seen that newsletter. A few weeks ago someone was fired, escorted out of the building. Management will not disclose why.

Asset Protection puts out a newsletter about these types of activities that eventually lead to employees being terminated. Maybe you should try reading it sometime unless you are one of these culprits.

Nothing changes in a work ground until the managers attitude does.
