Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Rec'd a response from invsp2019@gm.com re: WARN ACT PAY

The WARN Act payment is entirely separate and independent from severance. The severance period began 3/1/19 and payments will be made on the 15th and last day of the month for the time you are eligible to receive severance. The WARN Act is a monetary equivalent for wages and benefits from through April 9th and will be paid in full on 3/15/19.

Read your severance packets!! If you got WArn payment there was a paper in your packet telling you!! If you didn’t get your severance payments it’s because you didn’t sign and mail the packet back in time. They had to have received and recorded it by March 4 in order for your to get the first severance payment in your March 15 check.

Mine has severance payment, no WARN payment.. I’m from Pontiac. I think WARN is the severance payment for WTC people. Just different names.

My check included the WARN money and the 2019 teamGM but no severance payment. Anyone else have this happen or know why it's missing?

I am still a little confused. Why is there a WARN payment? It wasn't mentioned at the time of my exit.

The Equiv119 payment received on the 3/15/19 check is the pro-rated amount for this years Team GM...that's what payroll told me. They gave it to us in advance.

Yes, looks like WARN $ include other items such as retirement, health benefits, etc. Plus they paid out the 2019 TeamGM equivalent for 2 months. When I looked on the ADP site today, it was a very nice surprise.

I have extra money on my check-it doesn’t say WARN, but I’m wondering if that is what it is. It’s noted as “Equiv119”. Any ideas?

I am wondering if the Warn Act payment is higher because as the freep quoted:

The warn act filing states that as a result of GM's plans, "Our employees' compensation for wages and benefits will continue through and including April 9, 2019."

since we all had to pay for our health insurance ourselves by printing the invoice from net benefits, i am thinking the warn act payment includes the money for the health insurance too possibly? I DO not know this for a fact but wondering if that's the case.

And the warn act payment was applicable to only certain sites. Like WTC

This is for the WARN notice payments. If your GM employment ended Feb 28th, then the severance pay started March 1st. If you had 4 weeks of severance pay, then the first check will be received March 15th, then March 30th, April 15th, April 30th, etc.. You will get severance payments on the 15th and 30th depending on how long you were with GM. The WARN payment will be received on the 15th ONLY in one lump sum.

What exactly does that mean....

People who had severance that lasts pasts April 9 have no change. People who had only 4 weeks of severance are paid through Apiril 9?
