My VP had a AVP last year. That position could have been moved to another organization but functionally he lost 20% of that level even though it was one person and position. 5 to 4. Agree that we have too many folks at the higher levels but people would really have been upset if that percentage had of cascaded down to the peons. If this downsizing works like others have in the past at some point we will start to see announcements of Director levels and above leaving the company.
It's all about collaboration, doing more with less.
There will only be less worker, an increase in AVP
Less real Director titles, more associate directors area managers who will be worked harder for less
Cutting it all, except for leadership
