I know of several people that collected a few weeks and then were denied.

Yep, if you think Vz is going to pay you unemployment too you’re an id--t
Anyone can apply but the company is notified and has the opportunity to dispute. A voluntary buyout does not qualify for unemployment in ANY state. The company will submit the buyout T/C you signed to get EISP.
I guess they shouldnt have been authorized in the first place
