Why would Samsung purchase GF

Not a purchase, ATC would pay Samsung to take GF, ala IBM Fab9/10 sale to GF

How does that article indicate it is a "false rumour"? It seemed to indicate that there was a possibility of GF discussion. Who knows, it was all closed door stuff, but certainly within the realm of possibility given Samsung's ever expanding foundry business, already existing compatabilities and the "less-than-interested" approach ATIC has been taking towards GF since Suntan Tom took the reins.
