The company no longer looks at your salary as the total cost of your employment. The total compensation numbers that your Mgr covers with you is what they look at as the cost for keeping you employed. That doesn’t cover the costs of overhead which can add up depending on your position. If you work outside throw in vehicle costs, tools and test sets, etc. if you want to get granular the company match if you participate in that program. How much fiber can be deployed for 5G with every person that is let go? Not even talking about paying down the massive debt.

Makes you wonder if you can contact your hr rep (one on ur webphone) and demand for u not to have raises/increases for like 5yrs. Why not just ask people that? Wishful thinking.
I'm very sorry if this offends anyone----but to save my job for a set amount of time I would be ok with either no raise or no bonus. But I'm closer to the end than the beginning so it makes sense for me !
That makes so much sense about the salary levels and downgrades now. I’ve seen several in that situation
If you took a “demotion” you would have a higher salary... that’s one way to be on the high end. I know a few level 2s who used to be level 3s. Aside from their bonuses, they are still paid like level 3s. So yeah they would be at risk.
The company has no intention of putting people at the high end of the salary band.
It seems like it’s very hard now to get to the higher end of the salary band if your raises are around one to two percent. If you do the math it takes like 30 years.
“Your total rewards”. That number is closer to your true “liability” to the company than your salary. Although pay attention to where you are in that salary band. If you are at midpoint or below you are probably safe. It’s he folks at the high end of their salary band (meaning old or tenured) who are at risk. It’s another form of age discrimination. See how sneaky and shady this dirtbag company is?
