Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Vacation this week, give notice on Friday, start new job on Monday

This is going to be my most enjoyable week in years.

Validates the point. The layoffs are an attempt to boost the stock value to please the shareholder and to line their own pockets.

Barra should have been gone by now. She was put there as a novelty CEO which is no longer effective.

It wouldn't be surprising if she left or was forced out right after the payout. Which, by the way, will be worth millions in cash and shares.

If GM cared about the stockholder, Barra would have been out by now. It has barely budged in a decade.

Fantastic! Good for you.

It's always good to leave on your terms and you won't regret it.

I believe what this person is saying is they are on vacation this week and will be basically quiting on March 1st.

A lengthy notice is a courtesy to your employer and is to their benefit. It's only helpful to you if you try to return or re-hire someday. But, I would never look back because GM(Greedy Motors) only concern is for the stockholder/themselves and profit. The C-Suite decision makers are highly invested stockholders and they don't care about the individual worker.

They pay twice a month and pay to current day so you're leaving clean. Your February 28th paycheck will be through the 28th and will include the 'Team GM' payout.

Congratulations and good luck on your new job!
