Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

What makes them so sure this is the right way?

Change isn't necessarily good, and what makes them so sure that this reorg of the company is something that will bring long term profitability and growth? GM didn’t make very good regular cars lately, whos to say they will make good electric cars, self-driving cars… or whatever the hell they are planning to make?

Shuffling the same people around. Mgmt may not be taking GM seriously either. It's all a play to make quick personal fortunes on non-product Cruise. Actually having a working company would be gravy, but too much trouble. Expect more exec stock cashouts. All the GM heads are board and officers of Cruise.

It's all b---s--- talk. They know they are hurting, they are losing market share every day. They have to say something to the share holders. Or, else they will pull out. Let's see what the shareholders have to say next year.

I don't know about anyone else but I know of no one that wants anything to do with an autonomous vehicle. I'm never buying another GM car anyway so I'll just buy a car somewhere else that isn't autonomous. I'll be dead before government mandates only autonomous cars can be driven on the roads.

Mary's plan is within 3 years, half the cars you see on the road will be autonomous Bolts, and the other half will be tricked out Silverados with the top trim level.

And they'll all be made in Mexico.
