Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

How do they determine who is let go?

Is there any way to predict if my position or team may be at risk?

@XF7txXp-1xhy is on to something but there's still some randomness to it. Aside from being on the front line, your best bet is probably being 7+ performer far from the 70 rule in a go to market function, but last year there were plenty of young people laid off. I also have heard strong rumors of cuts targeting functions like IT that were not even hinted at in the townhall or earnings release. We can really only breathe easy once it's all over.

Just remember Pepsi looks great on a resume. Given that the pay isn't great I'm sure everyone will find better paying jobs in companies that are way more stable

It is a combination of few things. Don’t want to discuss everything here. But surely, first thing which counts is whether the role is really needed for business continuity. Second is individuals ratings over past 3-5 year time frame. 2 or below 2 is trouble. Other one, probably is age. If the individual is past 45 they are kicking out. I don’t believe race or gender would be the influencing factors, but can’t rule them out totally.

Unfortunately for the IT folks, their teams are at risk every time there are layoffs at PepsiCo.

Also, the folks who work on Naked & Kevita are most likely st high risk.

In Chicago, looks like they are eliminating some of the cross functional teams and moving those roles back into the BUs. They killed all the upper NAN insights roles, so I think that dept is at risk. Trop will probably take a pretty big hit as well, since presumably there will be duplicative roles in NY now.

Field management/banded execs will probably be hit, and probably their supporting functions (if department only has to support half the people it used to...). Rumors IT Ops/Sustain will be hit as well, but IT jobs are the easiest to skim and offshore anyway. There may be cuts to other functions but the focus won't be there

Saw this at @Xz7kyMA-mrs, I think the OP has a good point.
