The 5G hype was great for all wireless companies the last couple of years. They all claimed they were deploying this year. When it gets out that they are no even close yet, to a real working 5G deployment, it's going to get tough for everybody.
Not my original post, but a repost from @XCoJhJy-1rwy . I tend to agree. Talking about 5G is one thing, deploying it successfully is another.
They have no clue ,so that is the bottom line,correct
They are outsourcing 5G roll-out...that's why you haven't heard anything.
In meantime they are doing training for Tech on 5G in select centers.
Which long term projects ate you referring to? You mean Go90? AOL? Yahoo?
Those projects? Yeah, those were the best decisions ever! Those investors...when are they going to grow up and embrace a corporation that throws billions at garbage?

True, but Verizon has directed 100% of their energy and hype to 5G. And investors (otherwise known as id--ts) have been investing in the hype. Most investors are now like children -- they want instant profits and don't have a clue about long-term investing. Just look at the long-term projects Verizon has started over the past few years and almost immediately gave up on when investors whined that they weren't seeing a profit. Verizon and companies like them used to have 5 year plans, 10 year plans and sometimes longer. They realized that, in some cases, it would take a decade or more to see a profit. Not anymore.
And if you're laying people off -- you're not growing. It doesn't get any simpler than that.
5G is being deployed for cellular service only. We will not see 5G for a fios replacement for years. They don’t know how to get it from the pole to the house yet. Still too many bugs to work out.
All new technologies have the same problem. They wont suddenly be deployed one day. They will start small and expand. Its true for all telcos. So no need to panic
We have to wait for the 5G standards anyway
