What is happening in Oracle is that the internal business stuffs themselves full of metrics, calling it 'streamlining processes', but it has nothing to do anymore with servicing the business or minimising business impact. managers are afraid of managers above them, trying to do everything to please them. They do not want feedback from the operation level, just shut up and follow orders. Own initiatives are not supported, raises or bonuses are only for management. I've been working here for 10+ years, know what I am talking about. On my way out now, fortunately.

The straw that broke this camels' back was the 'promise' I would be promoted and would get a raise once I've got my master degree. Guess what, got it, raise not possible due to no funds, no approval from HR or HQ. Then seeing your manager getting promoted and find out that colleagues on the same level in other countries getting raises, that did it for me.

"Recent SpaceX layoffs done by sending "stunned" employees home to wait for email. Nice that Oracle employer culture is advancing another company. "

Don't kid yourself, this is par for the course in Corporate America. And as soon as the meteoric growth ends, all those "great places to work" turn into this.

Looking forward to being Riffed. Sure could use severance as a nice launch into retirement .

when you say US economy is doing good, ORACLE doesn't necessarily give bonuses or raises cause all goes to LE and board. Why would you want to stay if you just get nothing??

No future for and at oracle so of course people are leaving. Why would anybody want to stay and get a phone call out of nowhere telling them to clear out their desk before the end of the day because oracle needs to improve EPS?

Where is the data supporting this?

Without any notice Oracle lays off its employees thru a phone call; in the mean time they bring over new H1Bs. This is how it works in corporate America.

Not a useless post! that's true. The all office where I work is in a very down mood.

No one says anything, it doesn't look good for a big company as Oracle to kick out people with 0 time notice.
