Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

When will layoffs will actually start?

I've already lost countless hours of sleep over the news about layoffs and now I realized I can lose who knows how many more because we have no idea when it will start. We just know it's coming.

I really hope they give us some kind of a time frame soon. I'm not sure how much more of this uncertainty i can take.

Depends on the group you are in. We were told end of the month. Consensus is with Friday Jan 25 or Mon Jan 28. Off payroll end of Feb or Mar, depending on which option you select.

If you are under McElfresh, plan on finding out Monday, Jan 28th. However, his email said this would happen over ‘several months’, so unfortunately, we can expect this uncertainty and stress over the next 11 months until the culling is complete.

These are notes from our call under ATO, Robertson org (keep in mind this could differ by org):

*Mcelfresh email was the official notification of surplus (anyone who received the email could be impacted)

*Old rules like notification calls do not apply in this situation

*no numbers or % surplus have been provided officially but 2020 goal was 1/3 of workforce - not sure 1/3 of what total number

*end of this month, 1/28, a call will be held starting the 60 day clock

*off payroll by 3/28

*geography (set up by dept) - rating, ranking, job title, and geography will be part of the decision

*if rating/ranking/job title is the same geo will be deciding factor

*customer facing location is not a hub/collab zone

*no volunteering or show of interest this time

*contractors not included

*standard separation package

*impacts 2nd and 3rd level managers as well
