What made you think it was a good idea not to take the package?

Strigel got into the nursing home computer and is typing memes again kids.
I am old enough to not want to start over somewhere else and yet not old enough to retire.
I decided that if I can hold on here for at least six to nine months and if they still offer the standard severance package, then I would be ahead by staying. Two very large "ifs" but a gamble that I decided to take.
The only downside I could see was how to afford healthcare. I took the package and am off in June. Only 58 but will have to figure out the bridge until Medicare kicks in. Always have landed on my feet so I will do whatever I have to to get by. I don’t have any kids so I don’t have that worry!
I imagine the regrets works both ways. Some who were approved for the package may wonder if they did the right thing and those who didn't apply for the package may wonder if maybe they should have.
Many took, but were denied. Keep that in mind. The number of people leaving could have been much higher but we'll never know.
