Stores may not close now, but it’s a problem in the near future

I see that some people on this board are showing concern about the possibility of VZ stores closing. I tend to think that is not going to be a big issue, at least not in the next year or two. Sure, a store or two may close here and there, but in terms of a chain reaction or a planed wave of closings, there is nothing to worry about for the time being. However, we need to be aware that in the not so distant future there will be a significant shrink in the physical store footprint, as the essence of selling shift towards online sales and as new technologies are deployed. This is a very simple conclusion, but every person working in a store needs to be aware of this.

Why do you think all the next generation stores were completed last year? And the back rooms weren't touched? You cant sell an old looking legacy store to an agent. Who'd want it? I'd bet all next gen stores flip to indirects. The term hybrid stores has been thrown around as well. We shall see..

OP, what do you base any of the nonsense you’re spewing on? A feeling?

People are worried about the inevitability of stores closing not the possibility. You close with a statement affirming as much.

Stores are closing; prepare accordingly. EOF
