We live in some tough times

Reading this board I see a constant debate between the long-time workers and the younger folks about the different perceptions of working at a retail company. I can understand that people that remember better times and times when the values that were preached were implemented in business have a hard time adapting to today’s corporate culture. I can also understand the youngsters who probably saw their parents or older relatives that gave their hearts and minds to some company, being screwed over. My take is that today’s economy is ruthless and definitely the company doesn’t care about you. Everybody is replaceable, they say. But the truth is very different. Every company is a living organism that relies on all of its parts. Bad associates make bad clubs, bad clubs make bad earnings. My point is that we live in times of twisted values. Companies make profit easy but fail just as easily. The time when workers valued and company values are practiced will come, but it will take time. For us who live in these times, there is nothing left but to adapt and hope that better times come in our lifetime.
