Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Any update on retail?

Any update on when layoffs would begin? Store closings? Positions being eliminated?

I’m hoping someone on here can shed some light.

Thanks.

Start updating your resume. What will you do with all the years of retail experience. Go to work at Walmart? Target? Enterprise? Agent? If you stay in retail, you will never make VZ money.

Agents will take over and you can stay and make $10-12 hour as a rep. Manager will make $50k. Good times are over. Cut your spending now. Find a less expensive apartment or downsize your home. Also, you will not afford a BMW anymore.

Maybe I’m being paranoid but, could be that this repeated 8pm drill is a dry run, practice for a permanent store closing? It’s so clear now. What a masterful plan.

I cannot see how any other scenario but this makes any sense at all.

Sears did the exact same thing, shutting there doors every night at the same time, as if they knew. Korvettes, Woolworths, Bradlees, Service Merchandise, Filene’s Basement, Ames, Bambergers, Lofts Chocolates, Jahn’s, Beefsteak Charlies, Charlie Browns, Bennigans, Bonwir Tellers, Chi-Chis, Ames, Hills, Hollywood Video, Ponderosa Steakhouse, Borders, Higbees, Kresgees, Eatons, Tower Records, Wig-Wam, Honig’s, Stern’s, Sam Goody, Camelot, Strawberries, the Wiz, Computer City, Circuit City, CompUSA, Lazarus, Blockbuster, Montgomery Ward, Waldenbooks, Kay-Bee Toys, Toys-R-Us, B. Dalton, Loehmann’s, Orbach’s, Kmart, Jamesway, Zayre, Payless, Gimbles, Gold Circle, Caldors, Crazy Eddie’s, Hills, Associates, McCrory’s, Fortunoff, Roy Rogers, A&P, Tape World, Coconuts, Sam Goody, K-Mart, Jack in the Box, and Alexanders too.

I’ve seen this before people.

It’s always the same pattern.

At 8pm, right, @1kam. Same here in NY, and all along the East coast. They seemed to have dimmed some lights, and locked the doors. Employees Were seen leaving.

However, this seems to happen each night, exact same pattern.

I wonder what it means?
