Has anyone else who took the layoff noticed their boss and/or coworkers having a pisspoor attitude with you? Ignoring you? Whispering about you to others? I am getting it on a daily basis, to the point where I cannot even go to my coworkers and boss for questions because they are acting like children. What would you all do? Should I stand up for myself or just let them continue to wallow in their misery? I am worried to speak up about it because I don’t want to get fired before being laid off, but this is becoming ridiculous.

to original post... YES clearly noticeable from my boss who is the only one that knows I did put in for it,,,,and is distant and hardly talks and does not share anything any longer,,,,
@WvEqsyF sounds like have c-appy coworkers and c-appy leader. you are perhaps better for leaving that team. I having not pushed the button am happy for those who did. I wish them well and enjoy hearing about there plans for life after VZ. For those staying like me, I offer words of encouragement and let them know we're all in this together.
For those of you who post with the "end of VZ" commentary, I laugh at how you knock those who stay to make you feel better about your decision. Makes me think those who are staying may be better off without you and those leaving will probably be happy to be away from you too.
Either way, I wish all well no matter what their choice.
I saw no animosity at my location. There is some concern as to how things will move going forward, but there are nothing but good wishes for those individuals themselves who opted to go.
@1oux, I talked to Misery and, fact is, she HATES company.
She also requested people stop speaking for her.
In my ops group, I think everyone is a little relieved. With me and several others going, the pressure is off a little on layoffs coming. Everyone knew vz was going to cut jobs, worked out better than everyone thought, especially me.
YES but misery loves company and its easy to be a weak miserable victim.

I'm being totally ignored... and i don't care. Tried to suggest transition planning and i might as well have been speaking Greek. It's a paid vacation.
My boss hasn't uttered a word to me since then...do I care nope got a check on the way.
I dont blame ypu for having a poor attitude,if it were me i would do ad little as possible ..
I was asked to hand off my work tasks as soon as I pressed the button. Since, I've been treated line I don't exhist. When it happens, I keep telling myself "not my circus, not my monkeys". Get me outta here

My DIRECT manager hasn't iinitiated a conversation with me since they found out I pushed the button, that was 3 weeks ago.
It’s within the realm of possibility that it’s actually you, @mtb, that might be on the receiving end of that “bloodbath” you describe, should you find yourself still not re-employed five or six years from now because you were holding out for that to which you had become accustomed, and because you bastly over-valued your limited skill set.
Not saying this is gonna happen. In fact, I hope you get all you desire. But, please, stop acting so arrogant.
My experience has been just the opposite. Everyone is happy for me and wishing me well. If people did begrudge me, I wouldn't give a damn. That would be their problem, not mine. It was a personal choice we all made. Be glad you pushed the button. I sure in the Hell am.
@mtb, you start off describing yourself as almost saintly for holding your tongue regarding what’s to come for those left behind, and for verbally blowing smoke up their collective derrières regarding having a bright future, complete with likely speedy promotion.
You applaud your own decency in holding your tongue, in not giving your honest and truthful assessment of where you believe things are truly headed.

lol I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Everyone is under stress. If you don’t normally go have a beer after work with them, then why are you even worried?
Firstly, it's not a layoff. It's a voluntary separation. Big difference. Anywho, to the OP, I'm experiencing the opposite. For me, those in my group who have taken the VSP are like a "special club" now where we only share our excitement and anticipation with each other. With those in our group who didn't take the VSP, we try to be positive and encouraging by saying there will be a lot more "opportunities" within the organization in January for them, and they may find themselves being promoted more rapidly than in the past. Privately we feel sorry for them as it will be a bloodbath in January but none of us are letting on that's what we think. Bad enough they didn't take the offer, no point making them feel any worse.
I am feeling ostracized by some as well.
my advice... blow it off and do your job. it's not worth risking your payout.
