Hans has shown time & again he doesn't care about playing by the rules. Wireline is safe for a few more years only because it's a good place to hire your 5G overhead under FIOS build out. There's a reason no new fiber is being opened up.

I am very involved in the subject matter and in NY the union will get the 5G sc-aps . If you think VZ isn’t contracting this stuff out you are completely wrong . VZ wants to eliminate trucks rolling out and wiring at the house , there biggest expense .
5G is being rolled out by Verizon competitors as well and on the same timeline. Verizon would be foolish not to grab and/or migrate existing customers just to grab market share. More profitable to keep a customer than to win them back. The Core will not be expanding but will likely decline over time and out of existence. 10 years should do it. Keep in mind, the cellular service backbone is Verizon core fiber at the moment but the wireless side should and likely is making moves to change that.

Verizon has issued a press release on this two or three weeks ago. Check press releases for your answer. I don't believe you're an employee, but if you are, search VZWeb.
If your union in NY can they contract it out? seems to be what they are doing everywhere else.
coming close to the end with fios in nyc , better hope we get to install some of that 5G sh-- or we are doomed .
