Losing more TV subscribers in Q4

Predictions say that the number of AT&T’s TV service subscribers is going to continue to rapidly decline throughout the 4 quarter. Not that I’m surprised, but something needs to be done about this and fast ( If anything can be done at this point). The sad thing is that this fall can be stopped only by introducing something revolutionary in the business or by dramatically lowering the prices, and I don’t see either of these things happening soon.

AT&T changed the DirecTV menu and made it slow and buggy. Search pulls up the wrong shows. On demand video has too many ads, and you cant fast forward them. Not a big problem until you find out that the show you recorded is actually a downloaded on demand copy. And finally, when it's raining and I lose satellite, why doesn't the box fail over to streaming my live shows?

Directv still has over 19 million customers. Certainly more than just rural customers. It isn't going anywhere soon unless AT&T is completely stupid. It still has the NFL TV package which is a huge draw to subscribers.

Sure it will lose subscribers to streaming services like every other cable and satellite company, but doubtful you would shut down a service that has much larger profit margin than the streaming, when they still have millions of subscribers.

Pricing is a big problem. Basic Direct TV without any premium channels is $94 per month. That’s crazy!

DirecTV had its niche. It was for people that lived in rural areas where it was their only option. Some people legitimately wanted the service. A lot were forced into it through it being required due to bundling with wireless for unlimited data. Now it's a mass exodus because AT&T ran into the ground. DONE!!!!!!!

Everybody is losing TV subscribers. TV in the traditional sense is not really a thing anymore. Wake up.

TV service is archaic. Not surprised that customers are cutting the cord in droves. Yet Randy and his team think that is the future hence the purchase of DTV which backfired in their faces. And DTV Now is a joke. The service is down more than it is up. Even with an employee discount I don’t have any T television service. Go figure.

Funny how Direct TV was doing quite well before The Rat and his Death Star took it over. The customers were happy as were the employees.

Now the customers are leaving in droves and the employees hate their lives. Great job Rat!

This is what happens when you have a fool running a company... no real strategy... other than that he can use buzzwords like “innovate” oh and he wants to be a movie star...

How much do they care if they can overcharge customers for Internet service in local duopolies though?
