What's more important than what's on this list is what isn't. In 1991ATT tried to reinvent itself as a tech company and enter the computer market by buying NCR. That was a disaster. In 1997 ATT started buying cable TV systems (and was talking even way back then about grand plans for targeted advertising). So much was invested in the effort that for a time ATT was actually the ;argest cable provider in the world. That too ended disastrously, and ATT's cable properties ultimately ended up with Comcast. The bottom line is ATT has tried to reinvent itself before, and these efforts were spectacularly unsuccessful. Those close to the DTV part of the business can aleady see signs of how ATT's attempt to transform itself into an "entertainmen company" will end up. In the world of ATT.it appears history does repeat.
