The problem with smit’s is they are placed only in high volume stores. So they have so many hours that there is no need for the manager and a smit so manager will teach smit and then take advantage and do nothing. Then these smit’s go to their 1st store and it is never a store like that. They are forced to start in a low volume no hours store so they need to do everything. They should have smits in low volume stores to show how it is like and the managers aren’t taking advantage of the lesiure. It is sick the difference in store managers in a under 50K about and above/below. The difference is amazing. Under you work 70 hours (all on floor pushing) Over 50k manager works 30 (mostly in office)
Bottom line is sm's are salary and my sm works a lot covering shifts on last minute call ins. If anything the 7k in bonus he gets is not enough. He does a lot at the store and I'll never say he needs to work harder than he does. The fact he didnt get a raise like we did is wrong. I'll never defend the people that talk bad about a sm bc I have seen what a good sm is.
Love this debate as someone that started as p/t employee 25 years and has been a store manager for 15 years I understand this shift/store manager debate well. First of all shifts run the store. It’s a managers job to delegate tasks and motivate there team. As a store manager you set the tone in your store. You treat your people right they will want to work for you not just CVS. Also I lead by example I take my truck in every week , and will do anything in my store that I ask any of my employees to do. As far as the pay they deserve the raise but so do we and bonus lol unless your in a store that’s doing amazing it’s not that great. For the the pressure and bs that a store manager goes through they all deserve to be paid better overall .Happy Thanksgiving and thank you to all those working today enjoy the time and a half. Spend time family that’s what matters
Store Managers are overpaid, glorified Shifts...
Dude the same could be said for store managers. A good chunk of you are a bunch of entitled pricks. I’m a recently promoted SMIT btw. You guys act like the world is owed to you and sh-- on most of us below. Your way of thinking is exactly why the place has become toxic. MAybe try to encourage and train your employees, rather than belittle them from the start. I’ve worked with plenty of store managers who feel that they deserve the world, but put in little to no effort at work. To sit here and say it’s all the shifts fault is completely false. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen my share of good managers and bad shifts, but to put the blame entirely on shifts is totally asinine. As far the raise across the board goes, they deserved it. Yea maybe there is a handful that didn’t, but most of them did. Anyone who says otherwise is the problem and only serves to prove my point about management entitlement. The problem is that Managers feel everyone below them is useless, but in reality we do quite a bit of the work that helps you get that bonus whether you wish to except that or not.
Get rid of bonuses, no incentives for doing the job you were hired to do! #Shiftuprising!
What is detrimental to store profitability is how much we pay some of these useless shift supervisors. We gave a raise across the board to some people that are not worth even having a job. The commenter that said all store managers and above should be fired is a prime example of someone who is paid to much. More than likely its a tenured shift who has no chance of moving up bc of there work ethic, attitude and/or basic existance on earth.
I was unaware that vacation and bonus watching was detrimental to store profitability...
These are the shifts that don’t want to do anything but smoke pot and play video games,if they really wanted to be a store manager they would be one instead of complaining about their store manager.
I'm reading into your statement and I have concluded that you feel like you should be rewarded for doing your job. Your reward comes every two weeks in the form of a paycheck. So thank you for doing the work that you agreed to do upon hire. I can assure you that you have very little knowledge of what a store manager and up is required to do. Day to day operations aren't the only thing keeping the store running at a profitable line.
No p&l or week 44 iar
Fla is suing us for o---ids. Ga and Sc next . Many Rph will lose liscense when the company gets out in front of this and blame starts. If you have high dispense rates you better get out now while you can practice your profession. This is serious
Mine posted in KY/IN. one week ago, however, Corporate had input some wrong figures, which I have placed on appeal.
I got mine 2 days ago.
Not in Florida either. My DL email it them out. I think that means they will not post for this month.
Mine hasn't posted yet either, upstate NY.
