Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

They've lost their leverage

Throughout the past 10 years in retail, AT&T has been looking for new revenue streams. As each new product and service has come out, they've threatened livelihoods. So many times we've heard, you're useless unless you sell these products and services. Well..... all of those new and innovative ideas have been bombs. Digital Life...Dead, DTV... Dead, Wireless home phone...dead, tablets...dead, ISIS...dead, MIFI...dead. The only thing I've seen sell is mobile phones. And they F that business up by forcing customers to buy DTV, which they don't and lose those customers to Verizon or T-Mobile. They always tell you how everyone is selling it, so you're a failure. Then you learn somethings just don't add up. Anyone who does a little bit of research will learn what failures they're working for. You're a communications company, THAT'S IT! Never will you be anything more.

Protection revenue is BS as well. They're looking for $9.00 per opp. Insurance is $8.99. If every customer gets insurance you'll never hit $9.00. So you have to slam with MPP. And it's slam. I've never met anyone who knew what MPP was for, how to use it, and knew they had it. What a scam!!!!!

You hit the nail on the head. I worked there for 10 years the first 5 were awesome then when NEXT was introduce the sh-- went sideways. Unethical sales practices became the normal, slamming tablets was next, then adding tablet SIM card to customers accounts without them knowing was the way to drive GAs. I am proud to say my team was the ONLY team in the SE that didn't show up on the Tablet GA fraud report. Then came more next issues, then sell DTV to all customers and if they don't wasn't it tell the to cancel when they call to install; that was the direction given by a director who thinks they were a great leader. Aweful organization and feel bad for all that are stuck working there.
