WM has in fact been laying off those with 20+ years along with a few sprinkles of 13-15 year Associates thrown in for good measure at HO for the past 6 years. It’s called getting rid of expenses. Cuts in the field have been more target to positions & combining job responsibilities with a focus on getting rid of middle management. Adding tools to do more with less headcount. Also a way to cut expenses when increasing wages at store level. This way can do a PR piece of increase wages while letting people go to shield from bad press. That’s how it goes these days.
